INTRO: Can You See Me Now?

Very soon my vision will change for the better and I will be able to see perfectly without glasses or contact lenses. Or that's the plan anyhow. Right now I'm still sort of oscillating wildly between rapidly alternating states of ecstatic enthusiasm and mind numbing fear knowing full well that all kinds of horrible things could happen to my eyes however small the chance may be.
Anyhow, because what I'm going to do has nothing to do with the more commonplace LASIK treatments but instead involves the slightly more exotic procedure of injecting ICLs behind my irises I figured I should
document my journey for all those who are looking into alternatives to permanently blasting away portions of their corneas.
Hence this blog.
Even though I'm already at the point where I'm going to pull the trigger and make the appointments (tomorrow to be exact) I'm going to start out with a few initial posts illustrating my particular background and my research, thoughts and concerns that lead me to the particular choice I've made and why I've opted out of the rest.
Hopefully this will prove useful to someone out there.
I think I've made the right choice so hopefully there won't be any posting of regrets later on when all is done and over.
